Trademark

Check your name, choose your classes, and prepare your own USPTO filing. This is education and guidance, not legal advice — for anything tricky, talk to a trademark attorney.

Search for conflicts

A conflict is not just the same name — it is any name that looks, sounds or means something similar, used for related goods or services.

Where to look

  1. USPTO trademark search: tmsearch.uspto.gov. Search your name, spelling variations, and sound-alikes.
  2. Your state's business registry for businesses using the name.
  3. A plain web search and the major app stores.
  4. Social media handles and domains with your name.

Write down anything close that you find, then ask your coach how to read it. If you find a close match in a related field, that is the moment to talk with a trademark attorney.
